Bulldogs Complete Opening Round of SEC Championship

HOOVER, Ala.– The Mississippi State women's golf team kicked off postseason play on Wednesday at the 2022 SEC Championship in Hoover, Ala. After the first round, the Bulldogs are tied for 12th with a score of 17-over (305).
The duo of Blair Stockett and Ashley Gilliam led the Bulldogs in the first round. Stockett and Gilliam finished tied for 33rd with a score of 3-over (75). Stockett rolled in eight consecutive pars from Holes 2-10.
Julia Lopez Ramirez rolled in the fourth most birdies on the day (4) to finish tied for 42nd with a score of 4-over (76).
Abbey Daniel parred 10 holes to finish tied for 58th with a score of 7-over (79) while Hannah Levi secured the third-lowest par 5 scoring on the day (1-under) to finish tied for 64th with a score of 8-over (80).
"We were able to have some players really battle today, head coach Charlie Ewing said. "It is one of those days where you leave the course disappointed, however, the opportunity is still in front of us. No goals have changed. There is still a lot to be excited about."Â
State will be paired with Tennessee and Missouri for the second round. State will tee off from Hole 10 for a 9:10 AM start.
