No. 7 Bulldogs Set to Wrap Up Fall Season in Mexico

STARKVILLE– Cabo San Lucas, Mexico will set the stage for the final 54 holes of the fall season as the seventh-ranked Bulldogs are set to compete at the Battle at the Beach this weekend. The three-day tournament will be played from Friday, Oct. 28 until Sunday, Oct. 30, and will feature 18 holes of play each day with each team teeing off with a shotgun start.
This event features a very talented 17-team field that sports universities from across the country. The seventh-ranked Bulldogs will be joined by No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 14 Arkansas, No. 16 Vanderbilt, No. 17 LSU, No. 20 Baylor, No. 23 Houston, No. 35 Clemson, No. 43 TCU and No. 50 Kansas. Unranked Charlotte, East Tennessee State, North Texas, Missouri, Rutgers and Wisconsin round out the field with TCU as the host of this event.
Mississippi State will roll with a new lineup for the final tournament of the fall season that features many familiar faces and a Bulldog debut.
Abbey Daniel will take the number one spot. Last time out, Daniel secured her second career top-10 finish after carding a very effective final round from The Ally. Daniel rolled eight straight pars to begin her day before adding three birdies on the back nine to card an even-par 72 in the last round. Throughout The Ally, Daniel sunk the fourth most birdies with nine.
Izzy Pellot will shoot second in her fifth career start with State. Pellot has been very reliable for MSU throughout the fall. In the final round of The Ally, Pellot started out hot, sinking birdies on holes 1 and 2 to propel herself up the leaderboard en route to posting 2-over par (74). Pellot has now secured three straight top-20 finishes in her young Bulldog career.
Freshman Surapa Janthamunee will take the third spot in her team Bulldog debut. The Phuket, Thailand native competed individually in The Ally where she finished tied for 20th.
Hannah Levi is fourth on the scorecard for the Bulldogs this week. In her last event in front of the Bulldog faithful at The Ally, Levi led MSU through the final round. On the back nine, Levi sunk her second eagle of the tournament on hole 14 before following it up with birdies on holes 15 and 18 to card 1-under par (71). Levi finished nineteenth and rolled in the third most pars of the event (37).
Julia Lopez Ramirez takes the last spot for The Battle at the Beach. At The Ally, Lopez Ramirez finished strong on the back nine, rolling in six pars while adding a birdie on 13 to finish tied for 20th.
