Bulldogs Drop Final Match Of Old Barnwell Derby Match Play

AIKEN, S.C. – No. 16 Mississippi State women's golf fell in the final day of the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play to No. 8 Wake Forest, 3-1-1 in the third-place match. The Bulldogs jumped out to a hot start, leading in four of the five matches, but were unable to hold that lead throughout the remainder of the day.

Izzy Pellot earned the sole individual victory for the Bulldogs against the Demon Deacons on Tuesday. Pellot finished with a 4&3 win, which marked her third individual win across the tournament, making her one of five people across the entire field to win all three of their matches.

The Bulldogs will be back in action for the final tournament of the regular season when they begin the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational. The tournament will take place in Fort Worth, Texas, and will begin on Monday, March 23. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
