MSU Bulldog Invitational Opens Play On Friday

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's tennis is set to host their lone tournament of the fall this weekend.
The MSU Bulldog Invitational will welcome players from Alabama, Michigan, Tulane and even a few from Wichita State to compete at both the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre and Rula Tennis Pavilion.
"We are really excited to host some great teams this weekend and be able to host fans here at A.J. Pitts and Rula this fall," said MSU head coach Matt Roberts. "Last year we were not able to host fans for our home fall event so our team is definitely pumped for that. There are some really solid teams that are coming to Starkville and we can't wait to compete."
Players representing the Bulldogs will square off with those from Tulane at 3 p.m. on Friday. Mississippi State players will compete against Michigan's representatives on Saturday at 2 p.m. and conclude play on Sunday at 1 p.m. against competitors from Alabama.
It will be a round robin style tournament with players from Wichita State filling in to round out the remaining matchups.
This weekend will be the second time several MSU players have taken the court this fall. No. 27 Florian Broska, No. 36 Nemanja Malesevic, No. 54 Davide Tortora and Carles Hernandez all competed in the ITF Fayetteville 15K last week.
Broska advanced to the second round of the main draw in Fayetteville and earned a win over two-time All-American Tyler Zink of Oklahoma State.
The MSU Bulldog Invitational is open to the public and admission is free.
In the case of inclement weather, matches will be moved inside the Rula Tennis Pavilion. In association with a campus-wide mandate, masks are required to enter the Rula Tennis Pavilion
