**SCHEDULE UPDATE: Sunday's game will now start at 12p.m. CT.Â
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State soccer will look to rebound on Sunday, Aug. 29 when the Bulldogs host Southeast Missouri at 1 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast on SEC Network+ with Anthony Craven and Chris Nasuti on the call.
Â
MSU saw its five-match winning streak and 474:29 shutout streak at home come to an end in the 89th minute of a 1-0 loss to Arizona State on Thursday. SEMO has won each of its last two matches after dropping its season opener at Memphis.
Â
"We are looking forward to having the opportunity to bounce back on Sunday," head coach James Armstrong said. "The girls are looking forward to the challenge against a good team."
Â
The Redhawks were picked to finish third in the Ohio Valley Conference's preseason poll. They are led by defender Emma Brune, who has played all 90 minutes of regulation in 15 consecutive matches, and Anne-Clara Courterier, who scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, against Maryville.
Â
Goalkeeper Bailey Redden picked up her first shutout of the year on Thursday and is now tied for fourth in school history with 15 for her career.
Â
Onyi Echegini and Hailey Farrington-Bentil have led the MSU offense. Echegini and freshman Hannah Johnson lead the team with six shots, while Farrington-Bentil has put a team-high five shots on goal. Both Echegini and Farrington-Bentil have a goal to their credit this season along with Monigo Karnley.
Â
On the back line, Andrea Tyrrell, Miranda Carrasco and Niah Johnson have played every minute of every match this season. They're joined in that club by midfielder Macey Hodge.
Â
Admission is free for all MSU home soccer matches, and Sunday's match will offer free snow cones to fans. Cowbells are welcome at the MSU Soccer Field, and fans with a cowbell will have a chance to win two tickets to the Bulldogs' football opener against Louisiana Tech on Sept. 4.
