Malesevic Tabbed ITA Southern Region Rookie of The Year

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's tennis true freshman Nemanja Malesevic captured his first ITA Regional honor Monday, becoming the seventh Bulldog to be named the ITA Southern Region Rookie of the Year.
Malesevic is the first Bulldog to win the honor since 2018. The SEC All-Freshman Team selection burst onto the college tennis scene this season, going 16-7 in dual match play and collecting a team-high 21 singles wins on the year. Malesevic concluded the season as the No. 53 player in the nation, the highest ranking of his career.
Malesevic led the team in overall wins (35) on the season. While posing a dominant threat in the singles lineup, the Bosnia native showed out in doubles as well. Malesevic boasted 11 dual match victories with various partners, including playing the last half of the season at the No. 2 doubles position with partner Davide Tortora. The duo finished with a 7-6 record in dual match play while going 10-9 overall.
