Dubrule Named Candidate for Baseball Senior CLASS Award

Senior CLASS Award honors senior student-athlete that uses their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State graduate student baseball student-athlete Scotty Dubrule has been named one of 30 candidates for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

The graduate transfer from Jacksonville has appeared in 27 games with 24 starts at second base. A .250 batting average is boosted by a .359 on-base percentage, as he has posted 20 hits and walked 15 times this season. He ranks third on the team with 20 runs scored and added 12 RBIs on the year.

Dubrule sits among the NCAA's active leaders in games played (No. 1; 223), hits (No. 1; 270), at-bats (No. 1; 856), runs scored (No. 6; 157), walks (No. 13; 111), total bases (No. 19; 319) and RBIs (No. 29; 126). For his career, Dubrule is a career .315 hitter with an on-base percentage of .393 and 43 extra base hits.

The left-handed hitter spent his first four college seasons at Jacksonville University where he was a two-time All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection and finished among the career leaders in hits (No. 7; 249). While at JU, Dubrule earned his degree in sports business and is working towards his master's degree in workforce education leadership.

To be eligible for the Senior CLASS Award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. The complete list of candidates can be found by clicking here.

The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists in May, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches, and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C's of community, classroom, character, and competition. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2021 College World Series® in June.
