BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi State's men's golf program sits in 13^th place through two rounds at The Collegiate Invitational. State shot 20-over as a team on Tuesday for a team total of 598 after the second day.

"Tomorrow is going to be a big day for us," head coach Dusty Smith said. "We need to clean up a lot of simple mistakes. This is a very difficult golf course that can expose your weaknesses very quickly. We need to do a better job of committing to our targets and trusting our process. We need to focus on us and play Mississippi State golf tomorrow. This is a tough group of young men who are built of the right character."

Ford Clegg provided MSU's best round, carding a 1-over 72. Clegg is tied for 32^nd with one round to play. Hunter Logan and Austin Fulton both shot 6-over on Tuesday. Logan is now 7-over for the tournament and tied for 44^th.

Garrett Johnson fired three birdies, but those were offset by three double-bogeys and he finished the day at 9-over for the tournament.

MSU returns to the course at 8:40 a.m. CT on Wednesday morning.
