Baseball Alters Weekend Schedule with Texas A&M

State and A&M will play Saturday doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
STARKVILLE – The No. 4 Mississippi State baseball program has announced a change to its weekend schedule due to projected weather in the Starkville area later in the weekend. The Diamond Dawgs will now play a doubleheader with Texas A&M on Saturday, May 1.

Mississippi State and Texas A&M will throw the first pitch of the day at 2 p.m. For Saturday's second game, gates will open approximately 60 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Tickets for Saturday's originally scheduled contest will be honored for the first game of the day only. Dudy Noble Field will be cleared in between games and patrons must re-enter with a valid game three ticket for the second game of the day.

Saturday's Ron Polk Ring of Honor ceremony will remain at 11 a.m. as the quartet of Paul Maholm, Jonathan Papelbon, Jay Powell and Del Unser are enshrined as the 2021 class on the Adkerson Plaza inside of Polk-DeMent Stadium.

The right field gates to Dudy Noble Field will open for the ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with fans allowed entry on a first-come, first-served basis. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. No ticket is required for the Ring of Honor ceremony and fans attending will be asked to clear the stadium and re-enter with a valid game ticket once gates open for the 2 p.m. contest with Texas A&M.

Face coverings over the nose and mouth are required while entering and exiting Dudy Noble Field, and during the Ring of Honor ceremony. Should Adkerson Plaza reach capacity for the event, limited space may be available for fans to view the ceremony from outside the plaza gates.
