Mississippi State Completes Second Round At SEC Championship

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. โย Mississippi State's men's golf team resumed play for the second round of the SEC Championshipย onย Thursday. The Bulldogs shot a 304 for the round and remain in 13thย place.
Sophomore Hunter Logan climbedย the leaderboard to finish the round tied withย South Carolina'sย No. 4 Ryan Hallย forย 35thย place at 3-over. Austin Fulton birdied his second hole of the day but double bogeyed Holes 18, 1 and 4. The senior finished Thursday's round tied for 38th.
Ford Clegg completed the day tied for 61stย with two birdies and Garrett Johnson tied for 65th.ย Loïcย Ettlinย putted for birdie on Hole 12 but double-bogeyed on the fourth green. He ended the round in 69thย place.
"It was a struggle out there for us today," State's head coach Dusty Smith said. "We did not do a great job of handling the conditions and the adversity we faced. It's important that we learn from today and show up with great enthusiasm. We still have a lot to play for this year. We will not let the past two rounds define what kind of team we are."
The Dawgs will complete the final round of stroke play on Friday.ย Ettlinย will be the first to tee off for the team at 7:10 a.m. CT. The top eight teams following Round 3 will advance to match play on Saturday.
