Two Bulldogs Earn Top-15 Finishes As State Places Seventh At Gamecock Intercollegiate

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Mississippi State concluded the Gamecock Intercollegiate on Wednesday, placing seventh and besting six ranked teams behind a pair of top-15 finishes.

The Bulldogs topped two top-10 teams in No. 1 Baylor and No. 7 Ole Miss along with four other SEC teams in Georgia (13th), Florida (15th), Arkansas (16th) and Alabama (20th). State ended the three-day event on a high note by posting a score of 291, which was tied for the third-best score in the final round.Â

After leading the Bulldogs for the entire event, senior Blair Stockett recorded her highest finish of the season in a tie for 10th place with a total score of 1-over par (217). Not far behind, sophomore Abbey Daniel fired off a 1-under par (71) final round, giving her a score of 2-over par (218) and earning her a season-best finish at tied for 15th. The duo rolled in a combined 20 birdies.

Tied for 34th, graduate Clara Moyano shot 3-over par in the final round, while sophomore Ashley Gilliam tied for 60th after shooting 2-over par for the day. Redshirt sophomore Hannah Levi tied for 67th after an even final round.
Mississippi State will return to the course Friday, March 19, traveling to Athens, Georgia, to compete in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The Bulldogs earned a sixth-place finish during the fall version of the event, while Levi claimed the individual title after shooting 3-under.
