Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Patient of the Week: Mary Michael Kimbrough
March 25, 2021 | Baseball
Le Bonheur Children's Hospital Patient of the Week is a partnership between Le Bonheur and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to acknowledge extraordinary pediatric patients.
This week's Le Bonheur Children's Hospital Patient of the Week is Mary Michael Kimbrough of Tupelo, Miss..
When Mary Michael was born, her parents immediately noticed breathing issues. Her breathing was labored and sometimes they found her gasping for air. Their pediatrician sent them to Le Bonheur where they performed a sleep study to measure her oxygen intake. A pediatric cardiologist was brought in and it was discovered that Mary Michael's aorta was putting pressure on her windpipe which would require immediate surgery. Doctors at Le Bonheur were able to move her aorta and attach it to her chest wall, relieving the immense pressure so that she could breathe easier.
Today, Mary Michael is 3 years old.
Mary Michael loves anything Disney and Paw Patrol. She loves eating chocolate and running with her big sister and friends.
Thank you for being our Le Bonheur Patient of the Week, Mary Michael! Your friends at Le Bonheur are cheering for you!
