Broska Earns Career-Best ITA Singles Ranking

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's tennis standout Florian Broska will enter the spring season with a career-best ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Broska rose five spots following the fall season and is now No. 22 nationally in the ITA rankings that were released on Wednesday. The graduate student from Germany's previous career-best ranking of 27th came in September.

Broska posted an 8-2 record in the fall in ITA sanctioned events and claimed a championship at the GT Invite in Atlanta, Georgia on Nov. 5-7. He also defeated two-time All-American Tyler Zink of Oklahoma State in the first round of the main draw at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Fayetteville 15K on Sept. 22.

Broska is in his fifth season playing for the Bulldogs and has a 76-52 overall singles record during his career. He was a selected as a second team All-SEC performer last season with a 20-16 singles record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Singles Championships.

MSU will open its spring season with a doubleheader against Tennessee Tech at home on Jan. 14.
