NOTES TO KNOW
- Austin Williams has caught 37 of the 41 passes thrown his way this season. His 90.2 reception percentage ranks second among all receivers with at least 35 targets.
- Jo'quavious Marks tops all FBS running backs with 64 catches this fall. Still just a sophomore, Marks already owns the MSU record for most career receptions by a running back (124) and ranks seventh overall in catches.
- Marks has caught a pass in all 20 games of his career. Williams, Makai Polk and Jaden Walley have catches in 18 consecutive games while Jamire Calvin has a catch in 14 straight.
- Polk is tied for the conference lead with 71 catches this season.
- Walley caught eight passes for 100 yards against Auburn in 2020.
- Will Rogers has thrown for at least 300 yards in seven straight games and has thrown for 18 touchdowns and averaged 377.8 yards during that span.
- Rogers leads the country in career completion percentage (72.6) and career completions per game (33.4). He also the Southeastern Conference leader in passing yards (3,307), passing yards per game (367.4) and total offense per game (360).
- Rogers has thrown a touchdown in 14 of his last 15 games. He has also completed passes to 14 different receivers and thrown touchdowns to seven of them.
- Rogers is riding a nine-game streak where he has completed 30 or more passes.
- Mississippi State needs just six more completions to break the school's single-season record. The record was set by Mike Leach's offense last year at 373.
- True freshman Rara Thomas has hauled in a touchdown in three consecutive contests.
- Underclassmen have accounted for 27 of State's 32 touchdowns this year.
- The Bulldogs are the only team in the country with multiple players with 60-plus catches in 2021.
- Mississippi State leads the country with 1,834 yards after the catch, averaging 203.8 per game.
- Emmanuel Forbes is the active leader in the SEC with eight career interceptions, which ties him for the FBS lead since the start of the 2020 campaign. Forbes also is also the league leader with three career defensive touchdowns.
- The Bulldogs top the SEC and rank seventh nationally with 126 passes of 10 or more yards this year.
- MSU ranks No. 1 nationally with four 400-yard passing games and is the only SEC school with multiple 400-yard passing games this year.
- State's run defense ranks third in the conference and 11th in the country only allowing 102.1 yards per game on the ground.
- The Bulldogs held five opponents under the century mark rushing this year and Arkansas was the only team to exceed 200 yards on the ground against them in 2021. The Razorbacks rushed for 202 yards.
- Brandon Ruiz has converted 134 consecutive extra points.
- Auburn leads the overall series against Mississippi State 65-26-2 and holds a 30-7 edge on the Plains.
- Three of the last four meetings in the series at Jordan-Hare Stadium have been decided by one possession.
- Auburn has been ranked in each of the last four games against the Bulldogs with MSU upsetting the then eighth-ranked Tigers 23-9 in Starkville in 2018.
- The home team has won seven of the last 10 games in the series.
- Auburn's bald eagle mascot "Spirit" will make its final flight around Jordan-Hare Stadium prior to Saturday's kickoff.
- The Tigers top the SEC averaging 7.44 tackles for loss per game.
- Auburn punter Oscar Chapman leads the league averaging 46 yards per punt.
- The Tigers have scored points in 113 straight games and have not been shut out since 2012.
- Auburn has not allowed a fourth quarter point in any of its three SEC victories this season against LSU, Arkansas and Ole Miss and have outscored those opponents 27-0 in the final quarter.
- The Tigers have not allowed a passing touchdown in their past two games (Ole Miss, Texas A&M).
- Auburn's defense has not surrendered a touchdown in the last six quarters.
- Tigers' quarterback Bo Nix has only thrown three interceptions all year.
- Auburn has gone 162 games without having a punt blocked. It is the longest active streak in the FBS. The last team to block a punt against the Tigers was Mississippi State in 2009.
