Debreasha Powe comes to StarkVegas as a highly sought-after talent. On top of being the top-rated player out of the state of Mississippi, Powe is rated as a 4-star recruit and ranked 84th nationally by espnW. Powe, who is a versatile player with a strong offensive and defensive skill set, was named the Max Preps Mississippi Player of the Year last season. She put on a show during her junior season at Meridian, averaging 19.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 2.2 blocks per game. Powe selected Mississippi State over Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Georgia Tech.

Novak on Powe
"I'm really excited to add Debreasha to the Bulldog family. Her versatility, both offensively and defensively, combined with her relentless work ethic, will definitely be an asset to our program in the future. Her length and size, combined with her ability to shoot the ball, will create match-up problems all over the court. She is a relentless worker with high character. Debreasha's family and coaches have done a tremendous job creating a strong foundation that will allow her to grow throughout her career at Mississippi State."
Mississippi State tipped off its 2021-22 season on Tuesday with a 91-62 victory over Alabama State. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 12 when they host South Dakota State at 6 p.m. and again on Sunday when State hosts Alcorn State at 5 p.m.
