Adaloglou, Cirotte Each Earn Victories

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Mississippi State's Women's Tennis was represented well at the ITF Hilton Head15K as Chloé Cirotte and Magda Adaloglou each picked up a win in singles play on Tuesday.

Cirotte took down Rebekkah Gaines of Kernersville, N.C. in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the main draw and will face Canadian Françoise Abanda. Abanda is No. 111 according to the WTA rankings and has previously qualified for Wimbeldon, French Open and U.S. Open.

Adaloglou duplicated her teammates' performance by dominating in her matchup against Carly Kunkler of Atlanta, Ga. Adaloglou won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 and will now go toe-to-toe with Hilton Head's own Emily Ruckno. in the main draw.

Adaloglou and Cirotte were scheduled to play doubles against the German tandem of Dana Heiman and Lena Lutzeier on Tuesday, but the tournament was interrupted due to inclement weather and will resume on Wednesday.

Heiman currently plays at Georgia Southern while Lutzeier is a graduate assistant and former player at Georgia Southern as well.

Adaloglou and Cirotte will not be the only members of the MSU women's tennis team in action on Wednesday. No. 22 Emmanouela Antonaki faces off against No. 28 Chloe Beck of Duke at 8:45 a.m. at the ITA All-American in Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Antonaki will also team up with doubles partner Tamara Racine - ranked 41st nationally - against No. 28 Mary Lewis/ Maja Pietrowicz of Michigan State on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
