Women's Tennis Wraps Roberta Alison Fall Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., - Mississippi State women's tennis closed out the Roberta Alison Fall Classic with four singles matches on Saturday amid poor weather and numerous delays.

Alexandra Mikhailuk and Marta Falceto participated in two singles matches apiece, some of which were interrupted and resumed indoors due to rain.

Falceto and Mikhailuk dropped their first singles match with Mikhailuk falling to Taylor Cataldi of Wisconsin 6-2, 6-4 and Falceto losing a close three-set match against Tulane's Brooke Theis 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.

Mikhailuk bounced back in her second match of the day against Indiana's Xiaowei Hu and emerged victorious 7-6(1), 6-0.

Falceto lost her second nail-biter of the day in a close match against Charlotte Cartledge of Virginia Tech 6-1, 2-6, 10-8.

Falceto and Mikhailuk will now join up with the rest of the team and look ahead to the John Cade Invitational held at their very own A.J. Pitts Tennis Center and Rula Tennis Pavilion. The event will take place Nov. 5-7 and will include Georgia Tech, Memphis, Denver, Ole Miss, Louisville and Xavier.
