Tip-off Basketball Season With Inaugural Cowbell Yell at The Hump

Join us on Friday, Oct. 15, inside Humphrey Coliseum as we tip-off the 2021-22 men's and women's basketball season with a new, yet familiar, event when we host the inaugural basketball Cowbell Yell.
The event previously known as "Maroon Madness" will have a new name and feel this season. Similar to football and baseball, the basketball Cowbell Yell will center around teaching old and new traditions that will enhance the gameday atmosphere inside The Hump.
The Cowbell Yell will feature appearances by head coaches Ben Howland and Nikki McCray-Penson and select members of the men's and women's basketball teams. There will also be a special performance by the Mississippi State Spirit Squads and more.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. with Cowbell Yell beginning at approximately 8:30 p.m. Admission is free with the event open to the public, and the first 1,000 students in attendance will receive a FREE Maroon Madness student section T-Shirt.
And yes, we all know what you are thinking; Cowbells will not be a need for this event.
