STARKVILLE – After finishing tied for 23rd at 2020 Asian Tour Qualifying School, Mississippi State men's golf senior Peng Pichaikool has elected to complete his collegiate career and will compete professionally.
"We wish Peng nothing but the best as he starts this new chapter," MSU men's golf coach Dusty Smith said. I know that he will have a successful career."
Pichaikool played 97 total rounds over four seasons at MSU. He collected seven top five finishes and 14 top ten placements. His 71.4 career stroke average is a program record.
The Bangkok, Thailand native earned a spot in the 2017 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional as a freshman. Then, he helped the team to back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances during the first two seasons of the Dusty Smith era at MSU.
The MSU men's golf team has five events remaining on its 2019-20 schedule as it looks to become the first squad in program history to advance to NCAA postseason play in three straight seasons. The Bulldogs get their next test March 7-8 at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate in Scottsdale, Arizona. State won the event last season as Garrett Johnson finished as the individual medalist.
