TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week

The sophomore earned the accolade after the win against LSU.

STARKVILLE – Onyi Echegini of Mississippi State women's soccer was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Week, the publication announced Tuesday (10/13).

The sophomore forward scored the first goal against LSU in the Sunday home match, pushing past a Tiger defender, kicking toward the goalie; the ball popping off the top of the netminders hands and into the back of the goal.

Echegini had three shots overall in the span of 90 minutes. It was her first goal of the season and fifth of her career.

The Bulldogs will face Texas A&M next, headed to Bryan-College Station, Texas for a Friday match on Oct. 16. Kick is at 6 p.m. at Ellis Field, with the match being streamed on SEC Network+.
