STARKVILLE – Mississippi State will once again be well represented at the Pro Bowl.
Former Bulldog standouts Fletcher Cox (2009-11), Chris Jones (2013-15) and Darius Slay (2011-12) were selected last month to the NFL's annual all-star game. Players who were selected from the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs – including Jones – won't take part in the game ahead of the Super Bowl on Feb. 2.
State has had multiple defensive players selected to the Pro Bowl every year since 2016.

Cox has been selected to the Pro Bowl in five consecutive seasons, marking the most selections by a defensive tackle in Philadelphia Eagles' history. His five selections are tied for seventh among all Eagles' players, and only two Eagles (Reggie White and Pete Pihos) have put together a longer streak. Cox racked up 10.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks this season. He tied for fifth among interior linemen in total pressures with 56, according to Pro Football Focus.
Slay was named to his third straight Pro Bowl. He recorded 44 tackles, 13 pass defenses and two interceptions this season, becoming the only player in NFL history to record six consecutive seasons with 12 pass defenses and two interceptions all with the same franchise. His 13 interceptions over the past three seasons are the most by an NFL cornerback.
This is the first Pro Bowl selection for Jones, who was Kansas City's top-graded pass rusher and totaled five pressures with a 73.4 pass rush grade in a 35-24 AFC Championship victory. He led the Chiefs with 9.0 sacks this season.
