In the middle of an impressive senior season, Mississippi State signee Madison Hayes was tabbed to the 2020 McDonald's All-American Game roster on Thursday.
Hayes will take the stage in the premier high school basketball event on May 1 at 4 p.m. at the Toyota Center in Houston. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2.
Hayes was one of 24 elite seniors from around the country to be selected for the prestigious event. She joins freshman Rickea Jackson as the only two MSU freshmen signees to ever play in the game. Junior Sidney Cooks, who is currently sitting out the year due to transfer rules, was also a McDonald's All-American during her senior season before signing with Michigan State.
The do-it-all guard is putting together a strong senior campaign, averaging 24.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.6 and 2.1 blocks per game. Hayes has posted five 30-point performances and 11 double-doubles through 21 games.
Earlier this month, Hayes was named to the 2020 Jersey Mike's Naismith Girls High School Midseason Team, which qualifies her for the national player of the year award.
Rated as the No. 29 player in the country by espnW, Madison Hayes is the third top-30 prospect to sign with Mississippi State during the last two classes. The 2019 USA Today Tennessee Player of the Year is rated as a five star and is the No. 7 guard in the Class of 2020.
