STARKVILLE –Mississippi State Head Men's Tennis Coach Matt Roberts has announced the addition of Noah Tippen to the program's staff as volunteer assistant coach.
Tippen joins the Bulldogs after serving as the MSU Team Manager for the past two seasons as well as Racquet Technician this past season. Tippen played an integral role in the Bulldogs' back-to-back SEC Tournament Championships - as well as consecutive NCAA Round of 16 appearances - in 2018 and 2019.
"Noah has been a huge part of our family for two years as our manager and we are so excited to have him start his coaching career as a Bulldog," MSU head coach Matt Roberts said. "Noah connects with the team very well and has showed so much passion for coaching in the years I have known him. He will become a great college coach and I am delighted to give him the opportunity to start his coaching career here at Mississippi State University."
Tippen began his college days at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before transferring to Mississippi State. While at MGCC, Tippen was the MACJC Champion in singles and doubles, as well as the NCJAA National Champion in consolation doubles in 2015-16.
He moves into his new role at State with several years of coaching experience and helping with the development of players. Tippen has taught tennis at Prout's Neck Country Club in Scarborough, Maine, as well as Meadow Club of Southampton, in Southampton, N.Y. He has been a part of player development at Inverness Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., as well as Magnolia Tennis Club in Columbus, Miss.
Tippen graduated from Mississippi State this past December, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Administration.
