Ricketts Releases 2019 Fall Schedule

STARKVILLE – Eight contests, including three doubleheader contests, highlight Mississippi State softball's fall schedule.
Head coach Samantha Ricketts announced the Bulldogs' fall slate on Friday, which features three home contests at Nusz Park.
"We are ready to get on the field this fall," Ricketts said. "We have a solid mix of returners and newcomers. I'm excited to see what they can do. Our fall schedule will be competitive with a trip to Houston to take on four Division I programs over fall break. We will finish up the fall with an ovarian cancer awareness game to continue to honor Alex Wilcox and the fight to end ovarian cancer."
MSU opens the fall slate on Friday, Oct. 4 at Nusz Park when the Bulldogs face East Mississippi Community College at 6 p.m. CT. State wraps up its home fall schedule with a doubleheader against Meridian Community College on Saturday, Oct. 5. Game one against Meridian is set at 2 p.m. CT.
Over the fall break, the Bulldogs will travel to Houston, Texas, for four contests. The Texas swing opens on Friday, Oct. 11, with a doubleheader versus the University of Houston, beginning at 5 p.m. CT. The road slate ends on Saturday, Oct. 12, with a doubleheader against two Texas squads. MSU will face Texas State at 2 p.m. CT before rounding out the week against Sam Houston State at 4 p.m. CT.
State rounds out its fall schedule on Friday, Oct. 18, against Enterprise State Community College. First pitch from Birmingham, Ala., is slated for 7 p.m. CT.
The final road contest will be ovarian cancer awareness games to continue to spread the legacy and the lasting memory of Alex Wilcox. The Bulldogs will wear a special teal uniforms, which will be auctioned off following the game. All proceeds will be donated to an ovarian cancer foundation chosen by the Wilcox family.
