STARKVILLE – Week Four of the NFL season has come to a close, and it is time to take a look at how the 30 former Bulldogs who have gone #FromStateToSundays fared.
In a wild 34-30 victory at Detroit, defensive tackle Chris Jones was a force on the Kansas City Chiefs' defensive line. Jones totaled two tackles, including a sack, and forced pressure on Lions' quarterback Matthew Stafford throughout the game. Jones rounded out his stat line with a fumble recovery.
Green Bay added a third Bulldog to its starting lineup as safety Will Redmond earned his first start in a Packers uniform, joining rookie offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and linebacker Preston Smith. Redmond totaled a season-high eight tackles in the start against Philadelphia. Smith added two tackles and a quarterback hurry.
Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and the Eagles came out victorious with a 34-27 victory at Green Bay. Cox recorded three tackles on Thursday night.
Linebacker Benardrick McKinney led the Houston Texans with a season-high 12 tackles and recovered a fumble versus Carolina. McKinney was just one of a number of former defensive Bulldogs that turned in solid performances on Sunday.
Defensive lineman Denico Autry (Indianapolis) collected a tackle for loss, deflected pass and a quarterback hurry versus Oakland. Linebacker Pernell McPhee (Baltimore) totaled two tackles, including one for loss, and deflected a pass against Cleveland. Eight-year veteran linebacker K.J. Wright (Seattle) totaled seven tackles in a 27-10 victory at Arizona.
Rounding out the Bulldog notables, in his first week of being promoted to the active roster, wide receiver Fred Brown made his Denver Bronco debut over the weekend.
