STARKVILLE – Week Three of the NFL season has come to a close, and it is time to take a look at how the 28 former Bulldogs who have gone #FromStateToSundays fared.
The transition to Green Bay has energized linebacker Preston Smith as he put on another dominating performance in the Packers' 27-16 victory over Denver. Smith collected five total tackles, which included two for loss and tree sacks. He also added three quarterback hurries and a force fumble.
Smith has totaled 4.5 sacks through the first three games of the season, ranking third in the NFL in total sacks. The mark already surpasses his 2018 season total of 4.0 sacks.
Packers rookie offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins made his first NFL start in the 27-16 victory. Long snapper Hunter Bradley and safety Will Redmond, who collected three tackles in the win, also contributed for the Packers.
Quarterback Dak Prescott led the Dallas Cowboys to their first 3-0 start since the 2008 season behind a 31-16 victory over the Dolphins. Prescott was an efficient 19-of-32 for 246 yards and two passing touchdowns. He also added seven yards rushing and his first score on the ground this season.
The rushing score was the 19 of Prescott's career and the most by a quarterback since 2016. He has recorded eight games of at least two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown, which is three more than any other NFL quarterback over that span.
Rookie defensive end Montez Sweat turned in his best performance of the season on Monday night as he totaled a season-high seven tackles for the Redskins, including the first sack of his NFL career. Eight-year NFL veteran linebacker K.J. Wright turned in a double-digit tackle performance for the season on Sunday, closing the game with 13.
