Jones Leads the Bulldogs After Second Round at Mason Rudolph Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. – Mississippi State women's golf finished the second round of the Mason Rudolph Invitational on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Legends North Course, shooting 6-over for a score of 294 and to sit at seventh going into the final round.
"They worked so hard all day," said head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm. "It was one of those rounds where they burned the hole on several birdie putts, hit the pin on the fly from 125 and kicked it 12 feet away. We had an equipment failure with a loose driver, and that cost us a few shots as it was unknown to the player until we checked it after the round. We did a good job handling those challenges mentally but didn't finish as strong as we would like, dropping four shots coming in. We learned and will grow stronger as a result. These ladies are players, and I'm excited about where we are going."
Leading for State, junior Aubree Jones shot 1-over for the day, carding a score of 73. Jones is tied for 13th after the second day of play.
Tied for 20th, senior Clara Moyano and freshman Ashley Gilliam had strong performances in the round, finishing 1-under par (71).
Senior Blair Stockett, who is tied for 29th, shot 3-over with a score of 75, rolling in two birdies for the day, while freshman Abbey Daniel shot 4-over (76) and remains tied for 67th.
State returns to the course on Sunday morning to complete the final round of the invitational.
