Mississippi State and Auburn to meet for fourth time in 2019 to open bracket play at the College World Series
STARKVILLE – For the second-straight season and 11th time in program history, the Mississippi State baseball program opens play at the College World Series. The No. 6 national seeded Diamond Dawgs will begin their stay at the 2019 event against a familiar foe in SEC West Division foe Auburn on Sunday (June 16).
The final game of the opening round of the 2019 College World Series will start at 6:30 p.m. CT and air on ESPN2 with Karl Ravech, Kyle Peterson, Eduardo Perez and Kris Budden calling the game. Fans can also follow along on the Mississippi State Radio Network and via the ESPN app or ESPN.com/watch.
Mississippi State swept through the Regional and Super Regional rounds at Dudy Noble Field, beating Southern, Central Michigan and Miami (Fla.) in the regional round, before topping Stanford twice in the NCAA Starkville Super Regional.
State was 2-2 at the 2018 College World Series, opening its stay with wins over Washington and North Carolina, before falling twice to eventual national champion Oregon State. Overall, MSU owns a 12-20 record at the event, with its best finish a runner-up showing in 2013.

GA tickets can be purchased for $15 and the line for entry forms on 10th street adjacent to TD Ameritrade. GA tickets gain entry into the bleacher seating in sections 125-136. The stadium generally opens two hours prior to first pitch, depending on the length of the first game of the day.

Reserved tickets are available for purchase for each game. Each day at 9 AM, a random drawing is conducted for the starting point in the line outside of the Gate 2 ticket office. The ticket office then opens at 10 AM to purchase tickets for that day's games.

Clear bags not exceeding 12x12x6 will be allowed inside the stadium as well as clutch-style bags, with or without a strap, that don't exceed 4.5x 6.5. Clear, gallon-size freezer bags also are allowed.

Series Notes
- Mississippi State and Auburn have met 203 times prior to the 2019 College World Series opener, with the Bulldogs owning a 109-93-1 edge on the all-time ledger.
- Auburn swept three games from State in the first meetings between the two program in 1908. Those games were played at Auburn
- The two SEC West Division foes met earlier this season, with Mississippi State taking the series 2-1 in Starkville. Auburn won the opener, before MSU claimed the final two games.
- The only non-decision between the two teams came in a 1-1 tied during the 1915 season. That season, State took the first two games of the series in Columbus, Miss. before tying in the finale.
- The longest winning streak in the series belongs to Mississippi State at 16 games. The Diamond Dawgs carried that streak from 1982-85. State also owns a pair of six-game winning streaks.
- Auburn's longest winning streak is six games, which spanned from 1916-1947.
