State In Ninth After Round Two Of SEC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After the second round of the SEC Championship at the Greystone Golf Club, the Mississippi State women's golf team is tied for ninth and has put itself in contention for match play with a 16-over, 592.

"Today was a solid day," said head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm. "It was one of those days where we hit lots of fairways and lots of greens, just nothing fell. Birdies were few and far between, but I'm very proud of our patience. We didn't get ahead of ourselves and make costly mistakes. Tomorrow will be our day on the greens, maybe a few more in position for birdie opportunities. Anyone's game out there, as several teams are bunched up, we are going to work and make sure we leave all we have on the course."

Sophomore Blair Stockett leads the Bulldogs tied for 21^st, 2-over par. She posted a 71 in her opening round and followed up with a 75 in the second round.

Aubree Jones and Hannah Levi are both tied for 38^th at 5-over par, 149. Jones birdied No. 4, while Levi birdied Nos. 5 and 18 to finish out the round.

Ela Grimwood is tied for 57^th at 10-over par. Lauren Miller found some momentum in round two posting a 74 after a slow start in round one. She is tied for 65^th at 13-over par.

Florida sits atop the team leaderboard, while their Marta Perez SanMartin is in the individual lead.
