Gordon Honored with Graduate School Award

Gordon earns Masters Graduate Service Assistant of the Year award from the Office of the Graduate School
STARKVILLE – Already with undergraduate degrees in business administration and marketing from Mississippi State University, graduate student Cole Gordon has spent the 2018-19 academic year working as a Graduate Service Assistant in the Office of the Graduate School, and for his efforts was named the Masters Graduate Service Assistant of the Year.
Working towards a Master of Business Administration degree, Gordon was nominated, and ultimately selected for the award by a faculty committee. One graduate is awarded per year, with Gordon earning the distinction in 2018-19. Recognized for his outstanding contributions and significant productivity and growth of Mississippi State University through his service in the Office of the Graduate School, he was recognized at the annual Graduate Student Association Awards Banquet.
Gordon is on pace to complete his MBA in Summer 2019. A five-time President's Scholar (3.80 GPA of higher) and three-time Dean's Scholar (3.50-3.79 GPA), Gordon is a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection, while also earning SEC First Year Honor Roll as a freshman.
On the field in 2019, Gordon has appeared in 15 games and owns a 3-0 record with eight saves. In 22 innings of work, he owns 32 strikeouts and is limiting batters to a .238 batting average.
The right hander compiled a streak to 25-straight innings without allowing a run, spanning the end of the 2018 season and the first month of the 2019 campaign. In all, Gordon went from June 3, 2018-March 10, 2019 without allowing a run to cross the plate, marking the third-longest scoreless innings streak in program history.
