Bulldogs Tied For Ninth After Second Round In Evans Derby Experience

OPELIKA, Ala. — After the second round of the Evans Derby Experience in Opelika, Alabama, the Mississippi State women's golf team is tied for ninth place, 16-over par (598).
Head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm and her team will head into the third round focusing on finishing strong.
"We worked so hard today," said Brown-Lemm. "We had a very solid day going with the breezy conditions but had a tough time with the last three holes. Again, we are learning with every round but have to focus on our mental processes and nothing more to finish these rounds. I believe in this team, and we have one more round to stick with what we know and practice."
Junior Ela Grimwood had an impressive outing on day two at the Saugahtachee Country Club. She eagled No. 5 which helped her to a tie for eighth. She will begin Monday's final round even for par (144).
Sophomore Aubree Jones started the day off strong carding a pair of birdies on the opening holes. She is tied for 19th at 3-over par (147).
Freshman Hannah Levi and junior Clara Moyano are both tied for 52nd with a 9-over par, 153. Teammate Blair Stockett is just behind them tied for 60th with a 10-over par, 154.
Senior Katie Holt is tied for 78th with a score of 180, 14-over par.
Texas is atop the team leaderboard while its Kaitlyn Papp is tied with Florida's Clara Manzalini for the individual lead.
The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. CT.
