MESA, Ariz. – Following a 17-day break from competition, the Mississippi State women's golf team returns to the links this weekend, traveling to Mesa, Arizona, to compete in the Clover Cup.
Hosted by Notre Dame at the Longbow Golf Club (Par 72; 6,184 yards), this weekend's tournament features 18 holes a day, Friday through Sunday. Teams will go off split tees (No. 1/10) on Friday and Saturday with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. CT, before finishing with a shotgun start also set for 9 a.m. on Sunday.
The Bulldogs will tee it up for the third time during the spring season after a strong performance at the Westbrook Invitational at Westbrook Village Club in Peoria, Arizona, where they tied for fifth place overall. Junior Ela Grimwood, who heads into this weekend at the top spot in the lineup, had her best outing as a member of the Bulldogs, setting multiple personal bests en route to a 11th place. She carded 13 birdies in the 54-hole tournament to help her to a 3-under par finish.
The 2019 version of the Clover Cup boasts a competitive field with four teams in the top 50 of the latest Golfstat rankings and a pair in the top 25, including top-ranked USC.
Live scoring will be available throughout the weekend at BirdieFire.com.
