"I'm really proud of Aliyah [Matharu], coming off the bench today, shooting the ball extremely well, and not having any turnovers," head coach Vic Schaefer said. "She'll tell you that's a thing that's important to me."
Jordan Danberry recorded 15 points, four steals and three assists in the game, while Jessika Carter finished with her fifth double-double of the season behind 11 points and 14 boards to round out the double-digit performers.Mississippi State did what it does best on the defensive end of the floor, forcing 23 turnovers that the Bulldogs converted into 27 points. "I'm really, really proud of our kids today, against a team a have a lot of respect for, in Joe Foley, and Little Rock," Schaefer said. "I thought we played, at times, pretty well. We had 60 points in the paint, which is what we had last year against them. That was our challenge and our goal today."
Up next, the Bulldogs begin conference play with a matchup against Florida on Jan. 2 at 7:10 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum. That game will be televised on SEC Network+ and will be carried on the MSU Radio Network. For more information on the Bulldogs, follow MSU women's basketball on Twitter, like them on Facebook and join them on Instagram by searching for "HailStateWBK."
