STARKVILLE – Mississippi State defensive tackle Nathan Pickering has been named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team, the league office announced Thursday.
A quick, athletic and versatile defensive lineman, Pickering's 3.0 sacks this season led all SEC freshman defensive linemen. His 5.5 tackles for loss were the second most by any SEC rookie.
Pickering logged at least 1/2 sack in four different games this year. His top performance came against Abilene Christian on Nov. 23, when he racked up 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack.
Pickering is MSU's first SEC All-Freshman selection since 2017. He joins current NFL stars Jeffery Simmons and Chris Jones as the last three Bulldog defensive linemen to earn SEC All-Freshman honors.
Tickets for the Music City Bowl are on sale now at HailState.com/bowltickets. MSU's ticket allotment and team bench is located on the east side of Nissan Stadium. Reserved lower level tickets are $85, while 200 level club seats are available for $120.
