November 19, 2019 | Football
STARKVILLE – Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott continued to build his MVP campaign on Sunday, throwing three touchdowns in a 35-17 victory against the Detroit Lions.
Prescott completed 29 of 46 passes and surpassed the 400-yard mark for the third time this season. Along the way he secured his fourth consecutive season with 3,000 passing yards and 20 passing touchdowns. He is just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to reach those marks in each of his first four seasons. Prescott's 3,221 yards in the air leads the league, and his 21 touchdowns are tied for second.
The Dallas signal-caller also broke the franchise record for combined passing yards in consecutive games with 841 over his last two contests. Sunday marked Prescott's 28th multi-touchdown passing game, which ranks sixth in Cowboys history.
Across the field, Darius Slay recorded three tackles and deflected three of Prescott's attempts. Since his rookie season in 2013, Slay leads the NFL in pass deflections (97).
Benardrick McKinney posted eight tackles, including one for loss, against the Baltimore Ravens. McKinney was the Houston Texans' top-rated tackler with an 83.0 grade. He registered five "stops," according to Pro Football Focus which track tackles that constitute a failure for the offense. His 79.1 defense grade and 32 stops this year rank 10th in the NFL.
McKinney has now recorded 455 career tackles, which ranks sixth in Texans history. He leads the AFC in total tackles since 2016 with 397.
On Sunday afternoon, Gabe Jackson played all 68 snaps on the offensive line for the Oakland Raiders, allowing just two total pressures in a 17-10 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals.
J.T. Gray led the way on special teams for the New Orleans Saints with a 75.3 special teams grade. He recorded one solo tackle in a 34-17 victory against Tampa Bay. Gray now boasts a 90.8 grade for the year, which ranks fifth in the NFL.
