
Baseball Ready for Fall World Series

Diamond Dawgs play best-of-three series to cap fifth week of fall practice

STARKVILLE – After splitting a pair of seven-inning contests with Louisiana last weekend, the Mississippi State baseball program will host its annual Fall World Series beginning Thursday (Oct. 10), with the best of three series capping the fifth week of fall practice for head coach Chris Lemonis' squad.
The three-game series will start with a 6 p.m. first pitch on Thursday, Oct. 10 and follow with a 2 p.m. start on Friday, Oct. 11. The final game of the series will be played on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m., with all three games consisting of seven innings.
The rosters for the event are set, as team captains Justin Foscue (Maroon) and Jordan Westburg (White) selected their teams.
The starting rotations for the weekend are set, as well. As Marron will send redshirt-freshman Christian MacLeod, junior Houston Harding and freshman Davis Rokose against White team's rotation of graduate student Carlisle Koestler, sophomore JT Ginn and junior Jared Shemper.
All scrimmages are free and open to the public, with spectators asked to enter the stadium via the home plate entrance, located between Humphrey Coliseum and the Palmeiro Center. Spectators that attend scrimmages at Dudy Noble Field are asked to please use the lower bowl seating areas, as the upper bowl and premium areas will be closed during the fall.

The final week of fall practice will feature the final intra-squad scrimmage on Friday, Oct. 18, before the 2019 College World Series team is honored on the field during the Mississippi State/LSU football game on Saturday, Oct. 19. The fall slate is closed on Sunday, Oct. 20 with a trip to UAB for a 1 p.m. first pitch versus the Blazers.
