MSU Women’s Tennis Continues Play At ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. – Three Bulldogs represented Mississippi State women's tennis in the ITA All-American Championships Monday on day one of qualifying action. Magda Adaloglou competed in the singles draw while MSU's tandem of Emma Antonaki and Alexandra Mikhailuk battled in doubles.
Monday's action started as No. 115 Adaloglou fell to 82nd-ranked Martina Capurro of Oklahoma in the first round of the qualifying singles draw 6-0, 6-1. She will be back in action tomorrow in the consolation draw.
Later in the afternoon, Antonaki and Mikhailuk topped Hawaii's duo of Nikola Dolakova and Petra Melounova 8-3. In the second round, the sophomore-freshman duo dropped an 8-5 decision to the 31st-ranked UCF pair of Marie Mattel and Rebeka Stolmar, concluding the MSU duo's play in this week's event.
After Adaloglou's consolation play on Tuesday, State will then turn its attention to the All-American's main draw, which begins Wednesday. Antonaki, ranked 41stnationally in singles, is entered into the tournament's 64-player main draw. Adaloglou and sophomore Tamara Racine – the nation's 14th-ranked duo – will compete in the 32-team doubles main draw.
