STARKVILLE – Week Five of the NFL season has come to a close, and it is time to take a look at home the 31 former Bulldogs who have gone #FromStateToSundays fared.
Nine-year NFL veteran linebacker Pernell McPhee turned in his best performance as a Baltimore Raven on Sunday, helping the Ravens to a 26-23 victory at Pittsburgh. McPhee recorded a season-high six tackles, including a tackle for loss and a sack, and collected a quarterback hurry in the victory.
It was a Battle of the Bulldogs in Dallas on Sunday as the Green Bay Packers topped the Cowboys 34-24. Safety Will Redmond turned in a standout performance for the Packers, totaling a season-high nine tackles, which including three solo stops on special teams. Linebacker Preston Smith rounded out the defense with four tackles, including a sack and tackle for loss, while also deflecting a pass and forcing two quarterback hurries.
Offensively for the Packers, rookie Elgton Jenkins made his third start on the offensive line. Jenkins help pave the way for 120 yards of total rushing, which opened the door for running back Aaron Jones to score four touchdowns. Hunter Bradley handled long snapping duties for the Packers in the victory.
Quarterback Dak Prescott fell short in the contest. Prescott completed 61.4 percent of his passes, finishing the night 27-of-44 with a season-high 463 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Prescott added 27 rushing yards on four attempts.
Highlighting strong defensive performances around the league, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox collected a season-high five tackles, including one for a loss, in the Philadelphia Eagles' 31-6 victory over the New York Jets. Linebacker Benardrick McKinney totaled nine tackles in a 53-32 victory versus Atlanta to bring his season total to 41 to lead the Houston Texans. Linebacker K.J. Wright turned in his second double-digit tackle performance of the season in Seattle's 20-29 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, finishing the game with 10 total tackles and a deflected pass.
