STARKVILLE – National audiences will have 13 opportunities to watch the two-time reigning SEC champion Mississippi State women's basketball team during the 2019-20 regular season.
Vic Schaefer, the 2019 ESPNW National Coach of the Year, and his squad will have 12 out of 16 SEC games televised. Six of the televised games will come at Humphrey Coliseum, highlighted by a contest against Texas A&M on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 12 p.m. that will be aired on ESPN. The Bulldogs and Aggies are considered two major contenders for the SEC this year, and the game could have major title implications.
"The history of our program here the last few years has established a culture and fanbase that television likes," said Schaefer. "This team now has to live up to those expectations because of what other teams have done. We are excited to have a chance to showcase our program, the great state of Mississippi and Mississippi State University when we play at home."
Overall, Mississippi State will play at least three games on ESPN or ESPN2 and eight on SEC Network. Two games have the option of either being ESPN2 or SEC Network, and that will be decided at a later date.
The Bulldogs' matchup against West Virginia in the Big 12/SEC Challenge will be the first opportunity for national audiences to watch Mississippi State. That game will be televised on SEC Network on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m.
MSU begins league play by hosting Florida on Jan. 2. That game will be the first of two whiparound coverages by the SEC Network this season, with the other being on the final day of conference play when State heads to Ole Miss on March 1. The SEC Network will move around from game to game during set time slots on the two days to maximize coverage of the league, but both games will also be available on SEC Network + for fans who wish to watch just State's games.
On Jan. 5, MSU will play at Georgia at 3 p.m., and that game will either be on ESPN2 or SEC Network. The following game at Missouri on Jan. 9 will tip at 6 p.m. on SEC Network.
A rivalry game at South Carolina on Jan. 20 will be televised nationally on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. The Gamecocks are also considered as one of the favorites to win the SEC this year, so the Monday-night matchup in Columbia could have high stakes on the line.
Home games against Ole Miss (Jan. 26, 4 p.m.), Georgia (Feb. 3, 6 p.m.) and Arkansas (Feb. 27, 8 p.m.) can all be viewed on SEC Network. Alabama (Feb. 23, 1 p.m.) will either be aired on ESPN2 or SEC Network.
The Bulldogs' game at Kentucky on Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. can be viewed on ESPN2. Including the game at Missouri, Mississippi State will play four road games televised by SEC Network: Vanderbilt (Jan. 23, 8 p.m.), Tennessee (Feb. 6, 5:30 p.m.) and Auburn (Feb 20, 8 p.m.).
All other home games will be broadcasted on SEC Network+ this season as will every SEC road game.
Mississippi State hosts Lubbock Christian on Nov. 4 for an exhibition before officially opening the campaign at home on Nov. 9 against Southern Miss.
With 15 opportunities to watch the Bulldogs in Humphrey Coliseum during the 2019-20 schedule, season tickets are $150 for 200 level side court reserved seats and general admission is $85. To purchase, go to hailstate.com/tickets or call the Mississippi State Ticket Office at 662.325.2600 or 888.GO.DAWGS.
