Sights and Sounds from Maroon Madness

STARKVILLE - Mississippi State fans joined the men's and women's basketball teams Friday night for the annual Maroon Madness event presented by Coca-Cola at Humphrey Coliseum.
Maroon Madness featured a variety of skills competitions, including a dunk contest on the men's side and a scrimmage by the women's program. The finals for the dunk contest was a rematch from last year's event between All-SEC selection Reggie Perry and redshirt freshman D.J. Stewart. Perry won the contest last year, but it was Stewart that claimed the title in 2019.
Both programs also competed in a three-point shootout, with the champions from each team facing off in the final. Andra Espinoza-Hunter, who made an SEC Tournament-record 8 three-pointers in the SEC Tournament Championship game last season, represented the women's squad, while freshman Elias King came out on top for the men's side. In a close 13-10 shootout, Espinoza-Hunter took home the title as the three-point shooting champ.
Entertainment for the event was provided by rePercussion, a drum group that performed three acts and was accompanied by the Mississippi State Spirit Squad.
