TEMPE, Ariz. – Doubles play was the highlight of the day for the Mississippi State men's tennis team on Friday, as the Bulldogs notched three doubles victories on day two of the Tempe Collegiate Cup.

State earned a pair of victories over duos from TCU to go along with a win against a tandem made up of one Illinois player and one Horned Frog.

Doubles All-Americans Nuno Borges and Strahinja Rakic notched their second win in as many days, this time earning an exciting 7-6(3) victory against Alastair Gray and Alex Rybakov of TCU.

Florian Broska and Trevor Foshey joined forces in a 6-3 victory over TCU's Luc Fomba and Sander Jong. MSU's third doubles win came when Gregor Ramskogler and Stedman Strickland notched a 6-4 triumph over TCU's Eduardo Roldan and Illinois' Fletcher Scott.

The lone TCU doubles triumph came when Bertus Kruger and Reese Stalder upset State's seventh-ranked Niclas Braun and Giovanni Oradini in a 6-3 decision.

In singles action, the Horned Frogs proved to be as good as advertised, posting four wins over Bulldogs.

State's 11^th-ranked Borges dropped a tough 6-0, 7-6(6) decision to 14^th-ranked Horned Frog Rybakov in a marquee, top-15 battle. Gray earned a three-set win against State's Rakic, while Fomba picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win against MSU's Broska. Foshey then dropped a tough 6-3, 7-6(8) decision to Kruger, while Strickland fell 6-4, 6-4 to Illinois' Scott.

A trio of Bulldogs posted wins on Friday, led by Giovanni Oradini's three-set triumph against TCU's Stalder. No. 67 Braun continued his hot streak, earning a nice 7-6(4), 7-5 win against 69^th-ranked Roldan. Rounding out MSU's singles wins was Gregor Ramskogler, who won a three-set outing against Illinois' Gui Gomes.

Next Up For MSU …

The Bulldogs will conclude their first weekend of action Saturday, taking on opponents from host Arizona State.
