MSU Men’s Tennis Closes Out Another Successful Summer

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Entering another fall semester, the Mississippi State men's tennis team enjoyed yet another solid summer of competition across the globe.
In total for the summer, State players totaled 114 ATP ranking points (60 singles, 54 doubles).
Players earn ranking points on the professional circuit by winning main draw matches in these events, as an accumulation of points leads to an ATP world ranking.
Rising senior and two-time All-American Nuno Borges capped off another tremendous summer by taking the singles crown in the ITF Portugal F13 Futures tournament. In five tournaments, the two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year Borges reached at least the singles semifinal in every outing while advancing to at least the doubles semis in all but one.
ITA singles All-American Giovanni Oradini reached the Round of 16 in the Portugal F10 Futures tournament. In addition to his ITF play, Oradini won a national tournament in June while going undefeated in both singles and doubles in his club matches.
Niclas Braun, Florian Broska and Strahinja Rakic all saw time in ITF Futures tournaments this summer as well.
The 2018 Southeastern Conference Tournament champion Bulldogs will return to action in the fall, with the schedule to be released at a later date.
