Just saying congratulations doesn't seem like quite enough, but congratulations are certainly in order for a tremendous accomplishment, with more still to come. I know I speak for all of us when I say how proud I am of this team and how excited I am to cheer them on in Omaha.
Â
As the team makes its way to Nebraska, I encourage anyone traveling to the College World Series or watching from home to visit www.hailstate.com/cws for all information on our stay in Omaha. That page will be the home for updates, links, stories, videos and more on the team and on tickets and events surrounding the College World Series.
Â
The Bulldog Club has exhausted its supply of tickets, but options remain for getting into TD Ameritrade Park to watch your Bulldogs. Tickets are available through the NCAA ticket website, including an option for 10 any-game general admission ticket booklets for $90.
Â
Our official partner on the secondary market is StubHub, so I'd encourage you to check regularly for ticket options and prices there.
Â
As always when the Bulldogs make it to Omaha, we expect to paint the town Maroon and have a sea of State fans taking over the city. As a former player and coach, I can't tell you how much it means to have that support on the sport's greatest stage. It's a long trip, and hopefully it will be a long stay, but I hope to see as many of you as possible in Omaha this year. It is truly a special experience. Be on the lookout later this week for information on fan events through the Alumni Association before our first game and throughout our time at the College World Series.
Â
I cannot say enough about what an incredible season it has been for Coach Dudley and our track and field teams, and their performance at the NCAA Championships served as the perfect ending to their year. I have to start here by giving a huge round of applause to freshman Anderson Peters, your National Champion javelin thrower! With a meet-record throw of 82.82m, Anderson cemented himself as the best thrower in the country, an amazing achievement in only his first year of college. Not only did Anderson win the title, but following right behind him was fellow Bulldog Nicolas Quijera in second place as he too broke 80 meters with a career-high toss of 80.21m.
Â
Overall, our men finished 10th place, and our track and field teams placed an incredible nine athletes on the All-American team. Congrats to these Bulldogs on an outstanding year!
Â
We appreciate what you do for Mississippi State Athletics and want to encourage you to get others involved. There are three things you can do to help the athletic department at Mississippi State reach its desired goals:
1. Buy Season Tickets
2. Financially Support the Bulldog Club
3. Get Others To Do The Same
Thanks for taking the time to read this update. Â
Hail State!
