May 10, 2018 | Men's Golf
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Continuing a strong senior season, Taylor Grant of Mississippi State men's golf received SEC Community Service Team honors on Thursday.
"It's a huge honor to be named to the SEC Community Service Team," Grant said. "As a part of the SEC, we have a great platform to give back to our communities and try to help those around us. It's important to me to help the community and make a positive impact in the lives of others."
Grant's community service activities include volunteering with the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, Sprint with Super Gabe 5K, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, United We Feed, the TK Martin Super Fun Run and Read and Play and Breakfast of Champions.
Grant also performed in the classroom. Graduating following the spring semester with a degree in business administration, Grant was named a Srixon/Cleveland GCAA All-American Scholar following his 2016-17 season.
As well as in the community and the classroom, Grant was also a leader on the course for MSU. In March, the senior collected three consecutive Top 10 finishes and helped State to four-straight Top 5 finishes to close out the regular season.
Grant and the Bulldogs are preparing for their first NCAA Men's Golf Championships appearance in four years as they compete in regional play in Bryan, Texas, May 14-16 at Traditions Golf Club.
