Men’s Track and Field Retains No. 9 Ranking

STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the second week in a row, Mississippi State's men's track and field team is No. 9 in the latest USTFCCCA rankings.
The Bulldogs have competed at three meets as a full team and will run three more times before the NCAA regional meets including the Southeastern Conference Championships in early May.
"Last week was not the performance we expected, but much of that was probably due to the weather," head coach Steve Dudley said. "The meet at Tennessee this week will be a big one for us."
MSU will be one of five SEC teams competing at the Tennessee Relays this weekend. Of those, Kentucky is ranked on both the men's and women's sides, while Tennessee's women and South Carolina's men are also in the Top 25.
The SEC leads the nation with 20 of its 27 teams inside the Top 25. No other conference has more than nine.
Anderson Peters and Nicolas Quijera continue to lead the way for MSU. The two account for nearly 40 percent of the team's ranking points (56.07 of 140.45).
On the track, newcomers have provided a boost. Charles Brockman III and Malcum Tatum have made an impact in the 400m hurdles, while Terryon Conwell and Karson Kowalchuk ran on the squad's best 4x100m relay team.
