And of course, we have the Maroon-White Spring Football Game on Saturday at 3 p.m., Coach Moorhead's debut in Davis Wade Stadium. One of the most impactful things we can do as fans of our programs is to do just that – be fans. Be there, be loud, and help create an incredible atmosphere for Coach Moorhead, our staff and our student-athletes who have the opportunity to put on an exhibition showcasing all the hard work they've put in this spring. Let's break the attendance record on Saturday and show everyone what it means to be a Bulldog.
Â
We'll also have the opportunity to greet our stars of both the present and past as Coach Schaefer and our women's basketball team will be holding an autograph session in the north concourse of DWS on Saturday, and Bulldog legends Dak Prescott, Johnthan Banks and Gabe Jackson will all be home for the weekend and serving as guest coaches for the spring game.
Â
We've got all that and more, so be sure to visit www.hailstate.com/SBW for the full schedule and all necessary information. I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
Â
Â
Our baseball team and our nationally-ranked softball team both have big SEC matchups this weekend against highly-ranked opponents, so we expect big SBW crowds full of energy to help cheer them on.
Â
Coach Stuedeman and the softball team host Florida on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon. Meanwhile, Coach Henderson and our baseball team welcome Arkansas for games at 6:30 on Friday, 6 on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. Grandstand seating for baseball this weekend is reserved and tickets have been delivered to those with reserved seats. As always, admission to softball is free.
A reminder here, as well, that the annual Governor's Cup baseball game with Ole Miss takes place in Jackson on Tuesday night. What I love about this non-conference rivalry game is the opportunity each year to return to the state capital and visit with so many of our fans in the Jackson area and in central Mississippi. Of all we do, this event is one that is truly a baseball showcase for the state of Mississippi. I look forward to seeing everyone once again at Trustmark Park.
Â
Â
I'll start by saying good luck to Coach Brown-Lemm and our women's golf team who began play in the SEC Championships today at the Greystone CC in Birmingham. We wish you luck this week and congratulate you on a great regular season with so many Top-10 finishes.
Â
Congratulations are also in order for Coach Smith and our men's golf team for their fourth-place finish this week at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship, our annual home tournament. Coach Smith and his young men produced tremendous results in his first season at the helm and we look forward to the years to come as he continues to build the program. Good luck to them all as they enter the postseason and head to the SEC Championships at St. Simon's Island next week.
Â
Â
With both of our teams spending their seasons not only ranked themselves but taking down ranked opponents on a regular basis, it's been a fun spring of tennis at Mississippi State. Coach Greenan and our 30th-ranked women's team finished the regular season last weekend and are already back to it as they start play in the SEC Championship this weekend in Knoxville, beginning with a match against LSU on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. CT. We wish them luck tomorrow and all weekend!
Â
I can't say enough about how incredible the regular season was for Coach Roberts and our ninth-ranked men's tennis team, who finished with an overall record of 17-2, including an incredible 11-1 mark in the SEC. They blanked LSU 6-0 in Baton Rouge on Sunday to conclude the regular season on an emphatic note. We expect that we haven't seen the last of these Bulldogs in Starkville in 2018, as we hope to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament on campus (selections will be announced May 1). But until then, we wish them good luck in the SEC Championship next weekend in Tuscaloosa where they'll play the winner of Ole Miss and South Carolina on Friday, April 27, at Noon.
Â
Â
Yet another group having an impressive spring, our men's and women's track teams continue to be outstanding in outdoor competition. In fact, our men's team is all the way up to No. 9 in the country, and deservedly so after all they've accomplished. Both sides are coming off big performances, as our men's 4x400 and our women's 4x400 teams both came in first place at the Tennessee relays over the weekend. And a huge congratulations goes to standout javelin thrower Anderson Peters who won the bronze medal over the weekend at the Commonwealth Games with a throw of 82.20 meters.
Â
Our Bulldogs finish regular season competition next week at the Penn Relays before heading to the SEC and NCAA Championships. We wish Coach Dudley's teams good luck the rest of the way!

We appreciate what you do for Mississippi State Athletics and want to encourage you to get others involved. There are three things you can do to help the athletic department at Mississippi State reach its desired goals:
1. Buy Season Tickets
2. Financially Support the Bulldog Club
3. Get Others To Do The Same
Thanks for taking the time to read this update. Â
