STARKVILLE, Miss. – All five Mississippi State athletes who competed at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend in College Station, Texas, have earned USTFCCCA All-American honors.
Logan Boss, Rhianwedd Price-Weimer and Dejon Devroe were named to the first team, while Tiffany Flynn and freshman Marco Arop earned second-team nods.
Boss and Price-Weimer each earned the third honor of their Bulldog careers. Boss also received an honorable mention in 2016. Flynn is a repeat selection, while Arop and Devroe earned their first such honors.
"We are obviously extremely proud of these five," head coach Steve Dudley said. "They fought hard this weekend to cap off an entire indoor season that saw them competing well. They are among the best in the nation. We knew that going in, and they showed the rest of the country what they're capable of."
Boss was MSU's highest finisher, taking home bronze in the high jump. Price-Weimer placed fourth in the mile, and Devroe had the highest finish by a No. 16 seed in the men's 800m since the championship selection process changed in 2013, placing sixth.
In the process, Price-Weimer turned in a season-best time less than a second off of her personal-best, and Devroe set a new personal best while becoming just the third man in MSU indoor history to run under 1:48.00.
Arop narrowly missed the finals in the men's 800m as he finished 11th and just 0.38 seconds shy of qualifying. Flynn advanced to the finals of the triple jump where she placed ninth.
