Vivians Named Finalist For Senior CLASS Award

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State senior guard Victoria Vivians has been named one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award, the organization announced Thursday.
The award recognizes a NCAA Division I senior who excels in the areas of community, classroom, character and competition.
Voting for the winner is underway now, with a fan vote comprising one-third of the final tally. Fans can vote once daily through March 19 at www.seniorclassaward.com/vote.
Vivians' senior campaign has been her best in the Maroon and White, as she rates third in the league in scoring at 19.6 ppg, including a 19.4 average in SEC play.
The Carthage, Miss., native has scored double figures in 23 games as the Bulldogs are one of two undefeated teams in the country at 24-0 overall and 10-0 in SEC play.
Vivians has been efficient with her scoring opportunities, rating as one of just six players nationally, one of two in the SEC, to shoot 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
She is averaging 22.7 ppg this year against ranked opponents after notching her 12th 20-point game of the season with 24 against No. 6 South Carolina on Monday.
Her senior campaign also saw Vivians become just the third player in MSU history to record 2,000-career points. Her 2,225 points at State are the most by a current SEC player and third-most among active Division I athletes.
Vivians has also been stellar in the classroom, earning SEC Academic Honor Roll laurels each year. She has also been active in the community, participating in numerous service opportunities through the Mississippi State M-Club.
