MSU Stays No. 2 In AP Poll; DawgTalk, Luncheon Tuesday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – An incredible 26-0 start to the season has kept Mississippi State No. 2 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
In addition to the school-record overall start, Vic Schaefer's squad also jumped out to its best SEC start ever at 12-0.
Fans can discuss the record-setting start with the Bulldogs' head coach on Tuesday during another edition of DawgTalk with Vic Schaefer. The show will air live from 7-8 p.m. at The Veranda. Fans unable to attend are encouraged to tweet questions to MSU's official Twitter account, @HailStateWBK.
Before DawgTalk, fans can enjoy lunch and hoops talk with Vic Schaefer and the Bulldogs at Tuesday's Hail State Hoops Luncheon.
The special guest speaker for Tuesday's luncheon, which begins at 11:30 a.m. in Mize Pavilion, will be Bulldog baseball head coach Andy Cannizaro. Cost is $12, and fans can RSVP by calling (662) 325-0198 or e-mailing dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu.
The Bulldogs and top-ranked UConn are the only teams in the nation without a loss. State earned its 70th-straight week in the poll and 34th-consecutive week in the Top 10.
State's run in the Top 25 is the sixth-longest active streak in the country, while its tenure in the Top 10 is the fifth-longest current run. The Bulldogs have been in the Top 5 for 10-straight weeks, the nation's fourth-best active streak.
Schaefer's squad maintained the No. 2 position as it went 3-0 on the week. MSU opened it with a 67-53 win against then-No. 7 South Carolina. State then went on the road to defeat Florida 98-50 before returning to Humphrey Coliseum to claim a 74-55 win against Kentucky.
