STARKVILLE - Week 16 of the NFL season has come to a close, and it is time to take a look at how the 18 former Bulldogs who have gone #FromStateToSundays fared.
Defensive tackle Chris Jones now stands alone in the NFL record books by recording a sack in a staggering 11 consecutive games, a feat no one in the league has ever done since sacks became a stat 36 years ago. Jones closed the game with three total tackles, including 1.5 sacks for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Linebacker K.J. Wright and the Seattle Seahawks came out victorious in the contest over Jones and the Chiefs with a 38-31 win. Limited in action due to his return from injury, Wright just made his fourth start of the season and recorded two tackles and a pass breakup in the triumph.
Making his first start of the season, Kyle Love was all over the field for the Carolina Panthers. Love picked up three tackles, including a sack, and forced a fumble during the Panthers' contest versus Atlanta.
Quarterback Dak Prescott led the Dallas Cowboys to a 27-20 victory over Tampa Bay on Sunday to clinch the NFC East title. Prescott was an effect 20 of 25 passing for 161 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. He added two yards on the ground and scored another touchdown.
Defensive end Fletcher Cox and the Philadelphia Eagles kept their playoffs hopes alive with a 32-30 victory over Houston. Cox recorded one tackle in the crucial victory over the Texans. Fresh of his first Pro Bowl selection of his career, McKinney collected four tackles, two pass breakups and recorded the first interception of his career in the tight matchup against the Eagles. Both rookies Martinas Rankin and Jordan Thomas saw action in the contest with Rankin earning his fourth start of the season.
